Life’s Rust

I visited one of my favorite Midwestern parks a couple days back. January dumped a large quilt of snow everywhere, and I needed to pad the photo selection for this blog.  This particular image is one of my favorites.

This guard rail runs across the start of a trail down a steep hill. There is a river at its base and a pool where the creek ends with a waterfall and merges with the river. The old carvings into the yellow paint have rusted and turned into a beautiful antiquated  piece of art. Age seems to beautify most things in some way.
